Tecate Hare Scrambles 2009 842

After a one year hiatus the Los Ancianos MC hosted another epic Tecate Hare Scrambles and unlike her distant cousins, the TECATE SCORE Series, this Tecate stands for the town, not the beer. Perfect riding conditions welcome several dozen racers as they cris- crossed a 12 mile roller coaster ride in the morning and an extra 12 miles of loop from hell. All in all the pros would ride mountainous hillsides and well cut single track descents. Jamie Lanza got the lead and took off into the hills, pulling over a minute by mile 15 The pro race was dominated by the young guns with Ivan Ramirez and Colton Udall among the front runners on lap one as Lanza led Garrison into lap #two by a wide margin. The Los Ancianos are most famous for hosting this time honored event and they tell us its finally going to be an Enduro in 2010. The course alone and the intricate nature of these “built” Baja trails make this race worth running.
